Together, we ensure the future of the LGBTQ+ movement.
Your investment in HRC ensures the future of the LGBTQ+ movement.
In any social movement, achieving legislative victories is only one measure of success. Changing people’s lives matters just as much. For over 40 years, HRC has worked to achieve equality for LGBTQ+ people while encouraging them to live their lives openly — even as we seek to change the hearts and minds of all people to the side of equality.
Our work is national in scale, but personal in impact — felt when LGBTQ+ people visit a sick partner or child in a hospital … go to their jobs without fear of being fired … are welcomed in their faith community … walk through school hallways confident that harassment will not be tolerated.
Much has changed since our founding in 1980. You have been an important part of the HRC story. Despite recent historic gains, there remains difficult work ahead to achieve full equality. A gift to HRC in your will or trust, or by beneficiary designation, can help ensure that we maintain the same conviction and determination that brought us to this moment and keep moving forward for LGBTQ+ people and their families.
Electing pro-equality candidates & passing pro-equality legislation
Across the country, communities are reclaiming identity, restoring cultural connections, and creating spaces where every person can be seen and celebrated for who they are. Through initiatives like Uniting Resilience, the Human Rights Campaign is helping uplift and honor the voices of Two-Spirit individuals within Native American communities, supporting healing, storytelling, and cultural expression. This work is a powerful reminder that equality is not only about policy, but about belonging, dignity, and the ability for every person to live fully and authentically.
Demanding Quality Health Care Access for All People
When critical public health protections are threatened, the Human Rights Campaign takes action. Through powerful demonstrations like the die-in at the Department of Health and Human Services, HRC is standing up against harmful cuts that jeopardize access to life-saving care for LGBTQ+ individuals. These efforts highlight the real-world consequences of policy decisions, from reduced mental health resources to limited access to gender-affirming care, and reinforce the importance of continued advocacy to protect the health, dignity, and lives of our community.
For many LGBTQ+ individuals, access to health care is not guaranteed, it is uncertain and, at times, unavailable. Stories like Leo’s from Columbus Pride reveal a sobering reality, that for some, Pride is the only place they can receive medical attention. Through storytelling and advocacy, the Human Rights Campaign is working to highlight these disparities and push for a future where every person has access to the care they need. Because equality is not only about rights and recognition, it is also about ensuring that every individual can live with dignity, health, and hope.
Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth & Parents in Child Welfare Systems
As a child, the process of growing up and navigating the ever-changing passages of youth is difficult in itself. Now compound the process for an LGBTQ+ child. HRC is here for our youth and families who are struggling with understanding and acceptance for those children who are discovering their identity.
Ensuring the full equality of transgender and non-binary people in all areas of their lives
Across the country, leaders like Ciora Thomas are working on the frontlines to support transgender individuals, especially those in Black and Brown communities who face compounded barriers to safety, stability, and care. Through organizations like SisTers PGH, individuals are receiving critical, life-affirming services including housing support, emergency assistance, and community-based care. The Human Rights Campaign is proud to uplift and support this work, ensuring that those most impacted by inequality are not only seen and heard, but resourced and protected.

“After all, we are all here for one same reason – equality. No one’s rights should be determined by which state they live in.”
