Together, we ensure the future of the LGBTQ+ movement.
Your investment in HRC ensures the future of the LGBTQ+ movement.
In any social movement, achieving legislative victories is only one measure of success. Changing people’s lives matters just as much. For over 40 years, HRC has worked to achieve equality for LGBTQ+ people while encouraging them to live their lives openly — even as we seek to change the hearts and minds of all people to the side of equality.
Our work is national in scale, but personal in impact — felt when LGBTQ+ people visit a sick partner or child in a hospital … go to their jobs without fear of being fired … are welcomed in their faith community … walk through school hallways confident that harassment will not be tolerated.
Much has changed since our founding in 1980. You have been an important part of the HRC story. Despite recent historic gains, there remains difficult work ahead to achieve full equality. A gift to HRC in your will or trust, or by beneficiary designation, can help ensure that we maintain the same conviction and determination that brought us to this moment and keep moving forward for LGBTQ+ people and their families.
Ensuring Seniors Have Access to Long-Term Care Equality Resources
The Long-Term Care Equality Index (LEI) is the first national benchmarking tool for LGBTQ+ inclusion in senior housing and long-term care communities. With free resources, technical assistance and a biennial survey, the LEI helps communities implement, strengthen, and innovate their LGBTQ+ inclusion efforts. The LEI report formally recognizes communities leading in LGBTQ+ inclusion.
Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth & Parents in Child Welfare Systems
As a child, the process of growing up and navigating the ever-changing passages of youth is difficult in itself. Now compound the process for an LGBTQ+ child. HRC is here for our youth and families who are struggling with understanding and acceptance for those children who are discovering their identity.
Demanding Quality Health Care Access for All People
HRC joined coalition partners in demanding quality healthcare access for all people and an insistence that trans rights are human rights. Supporters like you, who believe that discrimination against any person is unjust, are coming together to bring about a change for all.
Fighting For LGBTQ+ Equality
Nyle DiMarco, winner of America’s Next Top Model and a model, actor, and activist, can personally relate to the discrimination faced by the LGBTQ+ community in two ways. Not only is he a deaf person, but he also identifies as sexually fluid. During this interview, you will hear from Nyle and why he feels it is so important to have the same equalities and protections from the government that are afforded to others.
No one should be denied their happily ever after because of who they are or whom they love. For Donna and Karen, being surrounded by loved ones on their wedding day was something they dreamed of and are grateful for supporters like you who continue to fight for marriage equality.

“After all, we are all here for one same reason – equality. No one’s rights should be determined by which state they live in.”
