Your Impact

Together, we ensure the future of the LGBTQ+ movement.

Your investment in HRC ensures the future of the LGBTQ+ movement.

In any social movement, achieving legislative victories is only one way to measure success. Changing people’s lives matters just as much. For over 40 years, HRC has worked to achieve equality for LGBTQ+ people while encouraging them to live their lives openly — even as we seek to change the hearts and minds of all people to the side of equality.

Our work is national in scale, but personal in impact — felt when LGBTQ+ people visit a sick partner or child in a hospital … go to their jobs without fear of being fired … are welcomed in their faith community … walk through school hallways confident that harassment will not be tolerated.

Much has changed since our founding in 1980. You have been an important part of the HRC story. Despite recent historic gains, there remains difficult work ahead to achieve full equality. A gift for HRC in your will or trust or by beneficiary designation can help ensure that we take the same conviction and determination that brought us to this moment and keep moving forward for LGBTQ+ people and their families.

Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth & Parents in Child Welfare Systems

As a child, the process of growing up and navagating the ever changing passages of youth is difficult in itself.  Now compound the process for a LGBTQ+ child.  HRC is here for our youth and families who are struggling with understanding and acceptance for those children who are discovering their identity.

Demanding Quality Health Care Access for All People

HRC joined the coalition partners in demanding quality health care access for all people and an insistance that trans rights are human rights. Supporters like you who believe that disctimination against any person is unjust are coming together to bring about a change for all.

Fighting For LGBTQ+ Equality

Nyle DiMarco, America’s Next Top Model winner, who is a model, actor, and activist is able to relate personally to the discriminations presented to the LGBTQ+ community two fold. Not only is he a deaf person, but he also identifies as sexually fluid.  During this interview, you will hear from Nyle and why he feels it is Nyle so important to have the same equalities and protections from the government that are alloted to others.

Connecting Communities: A National LGBTQ+ Liaison Summit

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation, in partnership with the City of Atlanta, is hosting our first Connecting Communities summit, a space for LGBTQ+ municipal liaisons and allied local officials from all around the country to learn about the most critical issues facing the LGBTQ+ community and what they can do to make positive change. This virtual conference will help equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to create positive change in their communities using the far-reaching tools of local government and will include workshops and panel discussions on local nondiscrimination laws and policies, creating economic opportunity, addressing anti-transgender violence in communities, vital municipal services for the transgender community and the importance of intersectionality.

“After all, we are all here for one same reason – equality. No one’s rights should be determined by which state they live in.”
